Shah Rukh Khan has given his best performance in Shimit Amin’s Chak De! India that was released in 2007, in which he played the role of coach Kabir Khan who trained Indian Women’s Hockey team. And, after the 11 years, there is a report of them coming back together for a film.
However, it is said that the film will be based on period drama. But, yet nothing has been confirmed from the director and Shahrukh’s side.
According to some sources, “Last year when Chak De! India clocked a decade, Shah Rukh reconnected with Shimit. It was then that the latter discussed a concept he had in mind for Khan. The superstar liked it and asked him to work on it further. When Shah Rukh returned to Mumbai last week after wrapping up Zero’s US schedule, the two met again to discuss the progress on the script. Shah Rukh is keen on the project and is likely to produce it as well.”
The source added, “He wants the film to be a departure from his romantic hero image. It will also feature a younger hero as a parallel lead. Though Ayushmann Khurrana is said to be in talks, the final casting call will be taken only after SRK comes on board.”
Talking about other projects of Shah Rukh Khan, he will be next seen in Aanand L Rai’s Zero with Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. As well as, he also be the part of Karan Johar’s next Salute.
