Sanjay Dutt has been into the headlines time and again- sometimes for a good reason, and most of the times for unpleasant reasons. From last one year, he made the headlines for his much-anticipated biopic directed by his filmmaker friend Rajkumar Hirani. The film starred Ranbir Kapoor in and as ‘Sanju.’. The film has been breaking records on the box office as it seems unstoppable.
However, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma now wants to make another biopic on Sanjay Dutt to reveal the dark sides of Sanjay Dutt’s life including his involvement in 1993 blasts and his possession of AK 56 which was ignored in Hirani’s film. Speaking about another version, he wants the title to be ‘Sanju: The Real Story’.
However, Sanjay Dutt’s sister Namrata is not happy with this decision of RGV and told a leading daily, “It was an unfortunate episode in Sanjay’s life. He has moved past it. Why is Varma bringing up the past again? If Sanjay gives a go-ahead, we are nobody to say no to him.”
She further added, ”Why do you want to go on and on about Sanjay’s life? Why is he putting us through so much pain again?”
Ram Gopal Varma has himself confirmed the project. However, he has not revealed the cast. Talking about the professional relationship of Varma and Dutt, they both have worked together for the film ‘Daud: Fun on the Run.’
Hirani’s film, on the other hand, is one of the highest grocers of all time matching pace with films like Baahubali and Dangal. It has proved to be the biggest hit of Hirani’s and Ranbir’s career.
